When we started working with Kim less than two years ago, my son struggled with reading, writing, and spelling. Simple assignments created frustration and reduced his confidence. Every task felt difficult for him and he began to hate his schoolwork. Today, because of Kim’s work with him, he has a much better attitude toward learning. He has made amazing progress. Reading is no longer a chore—it is a reward. He loves to learn through reading now. He is no longer intimidated to read aloud or in a group setting. Kim is consistently fun, engaging, and encouraging in every session she has with him. Because of her professional efforts, my son has developed skills and confidence that will benefit him for a lifetime.

We would definitely recommend Kim to families who are in need of tutoring. She has tutored two of my boys and the outcome has been incredible. Our boys have made huge strides academically and there confidence has grown immensely. We are so grateful for Kim and all her time and dedication to our kids. -T
“It is hard to describe how instrumental and helpful Kim has been in my son’s journey to reading! After years of stress and struggle we found Kim and she has been the missing piece we needed so badly! She tested him and has tutored him weekly for quite some time now. She has helped my dyslexic son not only become a great reader and speller, but the skills she’s given him will boost his confidence for years to come! We feel beyond thankful to be one of the many families she helps and I don’t know what we would have done if not for her! Thank is not enough! -Julie Goodson”
It is with great privilege and honor that I write this letter of reference on behalf of Kim Stoddard. I have known Kim as a friend, employer, and mentor for over ten years. I attribute much of who I am as an educator to the influence and mentorship she has given me. For over eight years I worked alongside Kim to help support and educate children diagnosed with special needs in a home-based educational setting. During this time, I was gifted the opportunity to learn from her how to educate students with differing needs, abilities, interests, and personalities. Kim was very intentional about every decision she made regarding the selection of curriculum that equally challenge and support the diversity of needs for children. Under her mentorship I learned invaluable instructional strategies, modification strategies, as well as assessment strategies. She taught me how to incorporate the whole brain while teaching which yielded significant growth and success with the children. Her expertise in education along with her passion for supporting children with special needs allowed me a unique opportunity that I do not take for granted. To further support the incredible value Kim has played in my life, I would like to share an experience with you that will more clearly articulate the significant impact Kim had on my teaching career.
I am currently a Pre-K teacher at a private Christian school in Phoenix. We are currently a 5 Star Quality First program. After one of my assessments conducted by a Quality First coach, the coach pulled me aside and asked me a variety of questions pertaining to my teaching style and strategies I implemented in the classroom. The first question she asked pertained to my background. I mentioned that I had spent eight years working alongside an educator in a home-based educational setting with students diagnosed with special needs. She paused and said, “That’s it right there. The strategies you implemented in your lesson reached a variety of learners. It is undeniable that every student walked away learning something.” While that compliment warmed my heart, I owe all of that to Kim. The time I spent with her shaped me into the educator I am today. I walked away with invaluable tools and strategies that not only set me up for success as an educator, but allow me to set my students up for success as well. ~BT

The following references carry a lot of meaning to me. I have saved them in a file for almost 20 years! These were written to me after I chose to leave public school teaching for the first time. I may have left teaching in the public school, but it never left me....
